This story is told by Jeani Weeden, grandmother of Nevaeh. Nevaeh is a very special girl, born with multiple physical problems that were not foreknown or anticipated. Had she been born even twenty years earlier, it is unlikely that we would be reading this story.

I believe this young child had a spiritual encounter with a relative who died before she was born.

This occured after Nevaeh's brain surgery where they removed her right temporal lobe and completely severed the two hemispheres of her brain. The doctors had been telling us that she would probably be in a rehab after the surgery to learn to walk and talk again.

Well, it was just a few days after the surgery; she was sitting in our living room, talking and able to walk. In order to keep her quiet we were sitting on the couch looking at pictures. She came across a picture of a serious man, and turning to me, asked who it was. I told her it was my father, her Grandpa Great. She said, "You know Mam Mam I know him." I then went on to explain to her that he had died several years before she was born. She looked at me and said, "Mam Mam I do too know him. He has a crooked smile, just like me."

My Dad indeed had a crooked smile, though he was not smiling in that picture.
